Slapsticks Comedy Loft Comedy Competition If you are an aspiring standup comedian there is still time to enter the Slapsticks Comedy Loft Comedy Competition. There are still slots open for competitors for the November 16, 2007 show which begins at 8:00pm at Slapsticks Comedy Loft. Below is an outline of the competition and directions to the Comedy Loft.
Slapsticks Comedy Loft Competition Details:
"Pittsburgh's
ULTIMATE Comedy Competition"
Slapsticks! Comedy Loft proudly presents
"Pittsburgh's ULTIMATE
Comedy Competition" beginning on
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 19 at 8:00 PM and is now signing up
comics for the 5 rounds of competition. Each Round will have 10 to
12 contestants and 2 winners will be chosen each week to advance to
the finals. The competition is open to
ALL PROFESSIONAL AND AMATEUR
COMEDIANS, and registration is on a first come basis
with a total of 60 competitors. There is no registration fee.
Comedy Loft Competition Rounds are on
the following dates:
Round 1 - FRIDAY OCTOBER 19
Round 2 - FRIDAY OCTOBER 26
Round 3 - FRIDAY NOVEMBER 2
Round 4 - FRIDAY NOVEMBER 9
Round 5 - FRIDAY NOVEMBER 16
FINAL COMEDY LOFT COMPETITION ROUND - Wednesday, November 21
Slapsticks Comedy Loft Competition Prizes:
1st Place: Cash
Prize* and paid bookings at 2 Slapsticks! Productions locations. In
addition, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place winners will be scheduled to
perform a show together at Slapsticks Comedy Loft
2nd Place:
Cash Prize* In addition, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place winners will be
scheduled to perform a show together at Slapsticks Comedy Loft
3rd Place:
Cash Prize* In addition, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place winners will be
scheduled to perform a show together at Slapsticks Comedy Loft
Cash Prize* is based on receipts
collected during the 5 Rounds and Final Round of competition. The
total cash pool is based on 50% of the paid admissions.
1st Place winner
receives 60% 2nd Place
winner receives 25%
3rd Place winner
receives 15%
Scoring the Slapsticks Comedy Loft Competition
Competitors will be scored in 4
categories:
STAGE CHARACTER (originality)
MATERIAL and DELIVERY (ability)
PRESENCE and AUDIENCE APPEAL (are you
funny)
AUDIENCE VOTES (each audience member
will vote for 3 competitors)
Slapstick Comedy Loft competitors should prepare 6 minutes of material for the competition. You will be given a light at 5 minutes and again at :30 seconds before your time is expired. Plan to wrap up your set within :30 seconds of the allotted time.
Slapsticks! Comedy Loft welcomes all
